The picturesque ETHNO-PARK is located on the road leading to Trg. Two beautiful wooden houses covered with straw (škopa) and their outbuildings were brought to the Ethno-Park from nearby villages. As a part of the Ethnography Department of the Ozalj Regional Museum, they bear witness to the increasingly rare examples of traditional rural architecture. The wood construction of the squared timber with Croatian corners is characteristic of this region. The interior of the low peasant rooms, kitchens and store-rooms emanate intimacy and a touching homey warmth. Beautiful simplicity is visible in each detail: in the whiteness of home-woven linens, in the lovely carved little chairs, in the blackened bread ovens… located by a sleepy fish pond, they seem to be a scene from a folk artist's canvas brought to life. |
