Climbing up a narrow road towards LOVIC-PREKRISKI, traveller is not yet aware of the beauty that awaits him or her on top of the hill. The extensive view can only be compared to the view from an airplane window. One can catch the occasional glimmer of the Kupa River, hidden alternately by the both steep and gentle slopes of the hills through which it cuts its course. Little cultivated fields look like a vivid quilt, while small houses give the impression of dice thrown in a game. The white facades and slender bell-towers of countless churches and chapels that adorn the hills are overwhelmed by silence, an unassertive peace inspiring the whole region. In the background there is the dark-green mystery of the wooded Vodenica, the bluish contours of mountain crests… Amazed by this beauty, Davorin Trstenjak, a distinguished Croatian pedagogue and writer, exclaimed:
He who has not been atop Lovic, has not fully seen his Croatian homeland!
