A road crossing the bridge in Ozalj leads to VRHOVAC. Even from a distance, the slender tower of the Baroque Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian can be seen, perched atop the hill above the crowded red roofs of the Vrhovac houses. It is a gentle scene, in harmony with the wavy rhythm of sunbathed slopes. Vineyard huts ('hisi') and weekend cottages among the vineyards will warmly welcome any aficionado of excellent home-made wines. A real "wine-road" will soon connect the vineyards of Vrhovac. Lovic-Prekriski and Vivodina. Somewhat further from the church, there is a seventeenth-century feudal manor called Plepelic-dvor. Winter gives the hills a special charm, making Ozalj itself look immaculate and magical, like a scene from a children's picture-book. Everything falls into a slumber, all is enveloped by a silence of whiteness. As an artistic motif, this very winter scenery of Ozalj represents one of the pinnacles of Slava Raskaj's watercolor painting.
